There’s something powerful about starting with just curiosity and slowly building understanding through my own effort. I want to investigate questions that do not have answers I can simply find in a textbook.
Working with a mentor from a research institution has helped me build skills that I cannot replicate in a regular high school environment. This project is not an outlet for building my academic records but an outlet to channel my curiosity into research.
Having a published research paper as a high school student showed the college admissions committees my commitment and capability in a way that grades and test scores alone cannot. I had taken all the available Chemistry classes at my high school, and this let me continue to pursue Chemistry before college.
